It was 2010, and Float House’s future owners have just stepped into a flotation tank for the first time. They emerged not only restored but with a new mission to bring the flotation experience to as many people as possible. However many obstacles arose. They had to help the Ministry of Health in Victoria develop float regulations. They had to educate a landlord on exactly what they were trying to accomplish. The whole endeavor took two years of hard work to come to fruition, but they consider the effort worthwhile. “We both knew … how awesome floating truly is,” says one founder. Today, they fill their flotation tanks with 10″ of filtered water, 800 pounds of Epsom salt, and customers who emerge relaxed, restored, and with a new respect for brined turkeys.
