With three house bands—Brejera Band, Mistura Fina, and Pé de Cana—Boteco Brasil is serious about cultivating a fully immersive Brazilian experience. Over the melodies of live bossa nova and samba, plates of authentic cuisine arrive at Boteco Brasil tables, their savory fragrances mingling inside the bright yellow and green dining room. To get diners in on the authenticity, the bistro even posted a helpful list of Portuguese terms and phrases, such as “one last drink and the bill please.”

And, of course, there’s the authentic food. Chefs create a culinary adventure through Brazil with regional dishes such as the picanha—a cut of sirloin steak popular in Brazil served with fried banana, toasted cassava flour, and fried cassava root. Despite the carnivorous bent of the menu, Boteco Brasil serves up a surprising amount of vegetarian options, including a hearts of palm pie and polenta fries served with homemade garlic aioli.
