Only open for 31 days in 2011, the Vancouver Christmas Market allows present seeking people the opportunity to start their shopping early. The market will be open daily from 11.00am till 9.00pm. This authentic German Christmas Market creates the perfect atmosphere for purchasing Christmas related goods and seasonal treats. The romantic setting paired with its customary rows of little wooden huts strung with little white lights display all of the fantastic products of this holiday season event. Equipped with a special children’s area where youngsters have the chance to make their own Christmas gifts, the Vancouver Christmas Market showcases some truly unique products. A mix of food and merchandise booths including some specialties such as German bratwurst and Leberkaes, traditional Christmas cookies, Lebkuchen, roasted chestnuts and spiced Christmas cake (Stollen). Beverages include hot-spiced apple cider and authentic hot-spiced red wine (Gluehwein) and a selection of German beers. During the daytime and evening hours the Vancouver Christmas Market will offer an array of performances, including traditional European choirs and dance performances, world class string ensembles, worldly gospel choirs and festive carol singers.
