The 38th annual Circle Craft Christmas Market showcases the work of more than 280 adroit artisans from B.C. and the surrounding provinces, including upwards of 45 new exhibitors. Visitors of all ages peruse booths commanded by wood-turners, sculptors, jewellery designers, and toymakers as well as artisans proffering glass beads, eco-friendly threads, and bark candies to provide more flavorful wrapping for holiday presents. While shopping, attendees can view the making of traditional and contemporary crafts at demonstration stages during up to three performances per day. Watch artisans as they blow glass, mould clay on the potter’s wheel, and spin yarn with the dexterity of a teacup, or observe a blacksmith as he hammers out iron pieces. Eyes and ears also thrill at visiting dance and ballet companies, acoustic performers, and singers at local entertainment stages. Fair goers can make donations toward three local charities at The Sharing Tree to win prizes, or peruse a gallery featuring artwork by local high-school students.
