Nintendo 3DS: Now only $169.99. This is a $80 price drop (Was $249.99)!

Starting August 12, 2011, Nintendo will drop the price of the Nintendo 3DS portable gaming system from $249.99 to only $169.99! Costco dropped the price to $169.99 about 2 weeks ago. This is $80 cheaper then when it first launched a couple months ago! The Nintendo 3DS is available in 3 colors: Aqua Blue, Cosmo Black and Flames Red (new).

I haven’t played with one yet, but I plan on going to Future Shop this weekend and see if I can play around with one and would consider buying one if it wows me. I’m a big time gamer.

The 3DS is home to the classic Nintendo DS controls with a handful of significant differences that completely change the face of portable gaming. It still has the classic controls, as well as the touchscreen and stylus. But it also has a 3D display that’s 10% larger, and a Circle Pad. Together, they create an experience that comes to life with never-seen-before detail and the accuracy of a console gaming system.

Future Shop: Xbox 360 Kinect Launch Games on sale for $19.99 (Save $30)

I was going through Future Shop’s flyer and noticed a couple Xbox 360 Kinect games are on sale for only $19.99 (Save $30). The games include Kinect Sports, Kinect Dance Central, Kinect Joy Ride and Kinectimals.

I got a Kinect for Christmas and haven’t really played. Thanks to this sale, I went and picked up a copy of Kinect Sports and Dance Central. Both games are really fun and I highly recommend them.

The sales goes until Thursday, July 23, 2011 or while supplies last. This sale is available in-store and online. You need an Xbox Kinect in order to be able to play these games.

You can save an extra $2 and buy each game for $17.99 if you go to Best Buy and get them to price-match Future Shop’s sale.

Blockbuster Video: Save 50-70% Off Store Closure Sale

If you haven’t heard, Blockbuster Video has been struggling the last couple years and have filed for bankruptcy. They recently announced they will be closing 146 Blockbuster Video stores across Canada.

Blockbuster will be clearing these closing stores out and discounting all inventory by 50-70% off! This is unfortunate, but a great opportunity to pick up some used DVD’s or video games for cheap.

Click here to view the list of closing stores as posted by the Globe and Mail.

This sucks because one of the closing stores is right by my house. I guess I’ll have to find a new video store.

NHL 11 Demo Now Available for Xbox 360 & PS3

I know this isn’t a deal, but I was very excited to find out that EA Sports released the NHL 11 Demo yesterday. You can download the demo on Xbox Live or on the Playstation 3 Network. If you don’t see in in the new release section, just search for “NHL” and it should come up. I love this game so much that I’m still playing NHL 10 on a regular basis.

I downloaded the demo and couldn’t stop playing it. There’s a ton of new features that I’m very excited about. The full retail version will be available on September 7, 2010. I can’t wait!
