Share share email VANCOUVER, B.C., — The Vancouver Canucks announced today the Grand Opening celebration of the Canucks Team Store Outlet will be September 2nd from 11am to 6pm. The outlet store, located at the corner of Hastings and Renfrew, will feature high quality Canucks merchandise at discounted prices. Canucks fans can preview the store, beginning August 27.

“We are very excited to open a Canucks Team Store Outlet,” said Victor de Bonis, COO, Canucks Sports & Entertainment and Alternate Governor, NHL. “We have great demand from our fans for Canucks merchandise and this new store will allow us the opportunity to provide a larger selection of merchandise at affordable prices. We look forward to returning to our roots and having a greater connection to the passionate hockey fans near our former home.”

As the Vancouver Canucks enter their 40th season, the Canucks Team Store Outlet will feature clothing and other Canucks memorabilia with logos from all eras of the organization to help fans complete their collections. The new store, conveniently located for fans outside of downtown Vancouver, will offer exclusive Team Canada merchandise, Canucks used equipment, white skate jerseys, practice jerseys and vintage stick and primary tees in blue, white and green for only $10.00. The store will also include BC Lions merchandise for sale. The Canucks Team Store Outlet is located at 150-2893 East Hastings Street (the corner of Hastings and Renfrew) and will be open seven days a week. Hours of operation will be 11am-6pm from Monday to Saturday and 12-5pm on Sundays.

The full assortment of exclusive 2010-11 Canucks gear and merchandise will be available at Rogers Arena, beginning in September.

NHL 11 Demo Now Available for Xbox 360 & PS3

I know this isn’t a deal, but I was very excited to find out that EA Sports released the NHL 11 Demo yesterday. You can download the demo on Xbox Live or on the Playstation 3 Network. If you don’t see in in the new release section, just search for “NHL” and it should come up. I love this game so much that I’m still playing NHL 10 on a regular basis.

I downloaded the demo and couldn’t stop playing it. There’s a ton of new features that I’m very excited about. The full retail version will be available on September 7, 2010. I can’t wait!

Sportchek – Free Skate Sharpening until August 30

Sportschek is offering Free Skate Sharpening from August 4 – August 30, 2010. The deal is available in all Vancouver locations. You don’t need a coupon or anything to take advantage of this deal. Simply bring your skates in and drop them off at the skate sharpening booth. There is a limit of three skate sharpenings per customer per visit.

Since The Forzani Group owns Sportschek and Hockey Experts, Hockey Experts has the exact same Free Skate Sharpening offer. We posted about it here. Sportschek’s skate sharpening always seems to be a hit or miss. I much prefer the way Hockey Experts sharpens my skates. They are much more consistent and I love the new Blackstone Flat Bottom V (FBV) method.
