The RaceLab provides Vancouver-area thrill junkies an outlet of fast-paced kart racing with professional instruction and high-powered vehicles. The geared karts forgo the typical lawnmower engine in lieu of a 28hp, two-stroke Italian machine capable of reaching 130 km/h, allowing grass cutters around the nation to rumble a sigh of relief. To complement the speed of the four-wheeled frames, racers trace the lines of the Greg Moore Raceway, garnering adrenaline as minivans look on with bitter jealousy. Before embarking on the 20 lap vision-blurring ride, a professional instructor briefs Formula One–inspired karters on proper handling procedures for their vehicle.
